Der Abstand bleibt dabei immer konstant, durch die seitlichen Öffnungen lassen sich Instrumente einbringen, Läsionen markieren, Fremdkörper entfernen und vieles mehr. Das Dermatoskop gelangt dabei nicht in Kontakt mit der Haut des Patienten.
